Acacia Theatre Company Presents

Babette's Feast

Conceived and developed by Abbie Killeen, written by Rose Courtney
Adapted from the short story by Isak Dinesen

Directed by Elaine Wyler

March 16-25, 2012

Artistic and sacred passions unite in this playful and highly theatrical adaptation of Isak Dinesen's story. Two elderly sisters are the center of an austere Norwegian religious community that that has renounced all worldly pleasures. Into their world comes Babette, a French refugee, who decides to cook a lavish feast to thank them for their kindness to her. The village elders are suspicious of her intentions, but should they resist the indulgent pleasures of Babette's cooking, or allow themselves to enjoy her gift of grace to them?
