“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” Matthew 5:9   Dear friends of Acacia, Recently I witnessed discord among people I care about and in my heart I heard these words: “Blessed are the peacemakers.” While discussing this theme, the staff and I observed how often peace is defined as a kind of tranquility, but achieving it requires action. Acts of Peace: A Journey Through One-Acts  October 11-27, 2024 Theophilus North by Matthew Burnett (Based on the novel by Thornton Wilder) The Happy Journey to Trenton and Camden by Thornton Wilder King of Kings, Prince of Peace by Jon Pawinski Layton Young and ambitious, a man leaves his hometown and learns how to belong in a “constellation of people” in the delightful Theophilus North. A family travels to visit one of their own who is suffering and they find gladness and solace together in The Happy Journey to Trenton and Camden. God is incarnated as a man to reunite humanity in King of Kings, Prince of Peace. Acacia’s season begins with a blend of one-act plays that dramatize the work of peace: in ourselves, with our loved ones, even with our enemies. A Sleep of Prisoners By Christopher Fry March 21—April 6, 2025 “Where, in the maze of right and wrong, are we to do what action?” Four prisoners of war are locked in a church in enemy territory. Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley

This sequel to Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice was a hit last season, so we’re bringing it back with the original cast and staging! Set two years after the novel ends, Miss Bennet continues the narrative, but with studious middle-sister Mary at the center of family misunderstandings that lead to conflict and hilarity. Can a Christmas gathering at Pemberley and a surprise guest restore peace and introduce new possibilities? Don’t miss what our patrons called an “uplifting, joyful and flawless” production.
