Acacia Theatre Company

2025-2026 Season

“Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” –1 Corinthians 13:6

Dear Friends of Acacia,

Truth! Do we know it when we see or hear it anymore? On a daily basis, things that appear real are proclaimed fake, there is bias to news, and we believe what is repeated. In Acacia’s 2025-2026 season, we want to walk in love; not delighting in evil and bad reports, but rejoicing in truth, whether we like the content of that truth or not. So we join the valiant efforts of our characters to seek and find The Truth! Please come with us.

Freud’s Last Session
By Mark St. Germain
October 24 – November 9, 2025

What if C.S. Lewis and Sigmund Freud met? What would they talk about? Mark St. Germain’s play imagines a conversation between these titans of theology and psychology on the day England enters WWII. The debate is friendly but the stakes are high as Freud and Lewis assert their truths and attempt to understand the other, “with both humor and insight in abundance.” – NY1 TV

These Shining Lives
By Melanie Marnich

Ottawa, Illinois, 1922. A group of women are thrilled by the opportunity to work at Radium Dial Company, making glow-in-the-dark watches. As their friendship strengthens, their trust in the company erodes, compelling them to a pursuit of the truth. Pulsing with hope and wit, These Shining Lives is an immortal story of the women’s community and a poetic tribute to every human being’s time on earth.

Angel Street (Gaslight)
By Patrick Hamilton

The hit play that inspired two film adaptations is back. Bella lives to please her charming husband Jack, who can be kind, even as he questions her sanity. When Jack is out for the evening, retired police sergeant Rough pays a call to Bella with a disturbing revelation. It will require all of Bella’s courage to restore truth to her house. Angel Street—also known as Gaslight—is a legendary tale of suspense and self-worth that defined a genre and became part of the public lexicon.
