Groverdell, Texas, 1995. A retired and single schoolteacher, Eleanor, instructed nearly everyone in her small town and believes she has nothing left to learn. “It’s the middle of July,” Eleanor’s neighbor laments, “There is no fresh air.” That is, until the arrival of a stranger named Abel, who is scouting the properties of single women and offering his services as a handyman.
