Quilters

July 12-21, 2013

A tender, moving musical, Quilters celebrates with unassuming honesty and simplicity the courage and character of our nation’s pioneer women as they share their fears, joys, loves and tribulations as settlers in a sometimes harsh land. Filled with love, warmth, rich and lively humor and stunning music, Quilters presents a moving spectacle of simple human dignity and endurance in the face of adversity. “Quilters is a show pieced together with love and stitched with pride … a thing of beauty, comfort and joy.” — NY Post.

Heaven Sent

March 8-17, 2013

Sometimes the greatest gift comes in the smallest package. When a young, abandoned girl in need of care appears at reclusive Samuel Langley’s door in the middle of the night, he rediscovers hope, beauty and character. Be captivated by this story of a troubled man finding love through the simple needs of an innocent child. Winner of the Appalachian Festival of Plays and Playwrights, the play is very loosely based on George Eliot’s Silas Marner.

Irena’s Vow

November 9-18, 2012

Irena’s Vow is the inspiring, life-affirming story of one of the most courageous and unsung heroines of World War II, Irena Gut Opdyke. 19-year-old Irena, a Polish Catholic, was forced to work as head housekeeper for a prominent German major. Over a two year period of service, Irena used her wit, humor, and courage to protect the lives of the Jewish refugees she cared for secretly. A celebration of triumph in a time of suffering, this is an extraordinary true story of one woman’s character.
