Acacia Theatre Company

2014 - 2015: Peculiar People

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people, that you should show forth the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9

Dear Friends of Acacia,

Jesus calls us to be the salt of the earth, both preserving and giving our world flavor. This season, Acacia Theatre brings to life a variety of “salty,” unusual characters, from the apostles Peter and Andrew, well-intentioned but perpetually missing the boat, to young Pip’s encounters with the eccentric Miss Havisham and Magwitch, to Opal Whiteley, a princess in a strange land. Please join us as we celebrate all that is curious, funny and wondrous about our humanness.

Fish Eyes

October 17-26, 2014

Acacia produces the comedy which has toured worldwide for 20 years, transcending culture, age and denomination. The eternal story of Jesus is told through the eyes of two fishers-of-men, Peter and Andrew, an odd pair who hilariously misunderstand their Lord as they earnestly attempt to follow His call.

Opal

July 10-19, 2015

Winner of the Richard Rodgers Award, this enchanting and moving musical is based on the diary of an aristocratic girl who is orphaned in a shipwreck and placed in a rugged Oregon lumber camp. In spite of the harsh environment, Opal preserves an imaginative faith that charms and transforms the lives of those around her as she rediscovers the light of hope and home.
